
On February 25, 2025, Malvern Family Resource Centre (MFRC) once again brought the community together for the second edition of #MalvernMade, celebrating local changemakers whose stories of resilience, creativity, and impact continue to inspire. Held at MFRC’s hub on 90 Littles Rd, Scarborough, the event showcased the power of local voices and fostered a sense of pride and belonging within the community.
An Inspiring Lineup of Changemakers
This year’s event featured an incredible lineup of speakers who have made significant contributions in their respective fields:
- Tamara Tatham – Olympian, Canadian Women’s Basketball Team
- Ron Dias – Film Director, Morningside, Bite of a Mango
- Yanique Williams – Co-Chair ERG & Public Policy Manager, Uber Canada
- Shem Parkinson – Executive Producer, Roz & Mocha Show
- Saye Sathiyakumar – President & CEO, Power Staffing Solutions
Through powerful speeches, they shared their personal journeys of challenges and triumphs, celebrating the spirit of perseverance, leadership, and community empowerment.

A key highlight of #MalvernMade 2025 was the engaging panel discussion moderated by MFRC’s Admin Coordinator, Breshna Hellali. The discussion fostered meaningful dialogue around leadership, resilience, and community impact. Breshna’s insightful questions encouraged speakers to share deeper reflections on their journeys, creating an inspiring and thought-provoking experience for all attendees.
