Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility (IDEA) Programs
As a Community Hub, MFRC creates safe and welcoming environments that bring people together. We know that Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility are fundamental principles for building strong and resilient communities and we are committed to living these principles within our team and programming. Together with community members and like-minded organizations, we leverage our collective energy and resources to advance social justice.
IDEA focused community programs are designed to centre lived experiences and target outreach and engagement strategies to better support those that need us most. IDEA focused programs aim to address systemic barriers, supporting equity-deserving groups to thrive. The IDEA team supports Black school-aged students and their families in navigating the educational system through our Student and Family Advocate program. We are also improving MFRC’s internal and external community referrals as we understand the crucial role we play in connecting community members to the resources and services they need.
We believe that resident-led groups’ leadership is a cornerstone of thriving and inclusive communities. MFRC is always looking for ways to support and engage with resident groups.
