Annual Harvest Season

On Saturday October 14, 2017 11 am – 3 pm at Pearson CI, 150 Tapscott Road
Join the staff and students of Pearson CI and the Malvern Food Security Table for a day of informative workshops and displays examining the relationship between a healthy environment and a healthy food supply.

Connect with your community while learning more about native plants, pollination, community gardening, plans for an urban farm, sustainable food supply, and other important initiatives.

Enjoy this opportunity to explore Pearson’s student ecology garden and learn how you can plant vegetables in buckets or harvest rainwater to improve your own garden.

Bring your own non-GMO seeds to share and pick up some new seeds to try in your garden next year. Sign up for your own plot in one of Malvern’s two Community gardens.

Admission is free. Door Prizes. Refreshments.

Seedy Saturdays are not one event, but a series of separate events which have sprung up across the country, each individually and uniquely organized under the same general themes of encouraging the use of open-pollinated and heritage seeds, enabling a local seed exchange, and educating the public about seed saving and environmentally responsible gardening practices.
