Women’s Place is excited to co-ordinate and deliver
the INCLUDED Project. Women’s Place has a team of professional staff and trained volunteers to provide information, self-help resources, and programs for women.

INCLUDED
INCLUDED: Connecting Diverse Women with Disabilities
in North-East Scarborough
is a project aimed at engaging women with disabilities, caregivers of women with disabilities, and service providers to understand and develop best practices to overcome the unique challenges that women with disabilities face.

The INCLUDED project encompasses differently abled women;
women with physical, mental, developmental and learning
disabilities, or disability as a result of an injury; or women with
any self-defined/ self-identified disability.

INCLUDED Project includes:

  • Community consultation
  • Focus groups
  • Surveys
  • Bi-weekly social program
  • Creative arts program
  • Research on issues that affect women with disabilities
  • Development of best
    practices for delivery of
    programs and services for women with
    disabilities
  • Environmental scans of
    programs and services
  • Listing of programs and
    services for women with
    disabilities and their
    caregivers
  • Network of stakeholders to strengthen collaboration
  • INCLUDED Summit in
    September 2017 to share
    project findings and results
  • Volunteer and leadership
    opportunities
